WHAT IS A MURDER MYSTERY?

For those who have never attended a Murder Mystery, it might be helpful to explain exactly what happens. Although all events are different, they follow a similar pattern.

Well it starts, obviously, with a murder! Some people like to see the body in all its gory detail, others prefer not to. That choice is yours although, in some scenarios, it will not be possible to view the body. During the event, actors will act out the roles of all those who might be suspects and present scenarios which provide clues to who committed the dastardly deed! They will also move around amongst those present and give everyone a chance to chat and question them. Participants may also receive other clues in the form of photographs, maps, official reports and diagrams. The object is simple: participants must use all of the clues to deduce who the murderer (or murderers, because there may well be accomplices) is/are and what the motive was, (and of course to have a lot of fun in the process!).

One of Murder by Appointment's own "detectives" will always be on hand to act as Master of Ceremonies. He or she will ensure that the event goes well and everyone has a good time. They are skilled in leading participants through the event with humour and ensuring all have an equal chance to arrive at the right conclusion. You can choose our own modern day bumbling detective (Inspector Catchem) or from a range of popular fictional detectives, Poirot, Miss Marple, Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Clouseau etc.

All of our actors are experienced in many forms of theatrical drama and have amassed considerable expertise in Murder Mysteries, including the ability to improvise and remain in character throughout your event.

What do You Need to Organize?

Whether you be the organizer of a private party or the owner of a Public House, Hotel, Club, etc, it is your responsibility to invite your guests. Murder by Appointment will provide specially designed invitations and advertising material should you wish but an additional charge is made for this service.
